I have practiced law for approximately 30 years, with an emphasis on Family Law, which includes dealing with custody, care and control of children, and financial issues between the parties. This includes child support, spousal support, and the division of family property. I have completed the requisite training with the ADR Institute of Manitoba, and achieved the designation of “Qualified Mediator” with the ADR Institute of Canada. At present, I am a member of both the ADR Institute of Manitoba and the ADR Institute of Canada. I am also a member of Winnipeg’s “FAMLI,” the Family Arbitration & Mediation Law Institute. In becoming qualified to act as a mediator, I also completed domestic violence training and advanced mediation training.
Along with Mediation, I continue to practice Family Law at AVS Law. My dog Rufus attends the office every day! In my former life, I proudly represented Canada at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, New York as the Ladies Figure Skating Champion of Canada.
